Filipino Vitality Commission

I am deeply honored and grateful to be entrusted with the role of President of the Filipino Vitality Commission (Paglago) under the National Association of Filipino American United Methodist for this quadrennium. This opportunity is a personal milestone and a continuation of the sacred mission and values our dedicated clergy and laypeople have passionately upheld. Together, we have always believed in the transformative power of planting churches wherever Filipino Americans call home, ensuring that faith and community thrive in every corner of our nation.

Our commission's work is rooted in the understanding that the church is more than a building—it is a living, breathing embodiment of God's love, a sanctuary for all who seek it. As we move forward, I am committed to carrying on this legacy, fostering growth and vitality in our congregations by focusing on innovative strategies that meet the needs of our time.

We must establish new places of worship and empower and support our existing churches, especially those in need of renewed energy and vision. Through collaboration, creativity, and the grace of God, we can reach out to every congregation, offering the resources and encouragement they need to flourish.

Let us continue this journey with hearts full of hope and hands ready to work. Together, we will build a stronger, more vibrant community of faith where every Filipino American United Methodist can find a place to grow, serve, and shine.

The United Methodist Order of Deaconess & Home Missioner

From https://sites.google.com/view/dhmlovejusticeservice:

Deaconesses and Home Missioners are laywomen and laymen who are called by God to be in a lifetime relationship in The United Methodist Church for engagement with a full-time vocation in ministries of love, justice, and service. Together we form a covenant community that is rooted in Scripture, informed by history, driven by mission, ecumenical in scope, and global in outreach.

The Deaconess and Home Missioner call to ministries of love, justice, and service is defined in Paragraph 1913 of the United Methodist Book of Discipline, which states:

Deaconesses and home missioners function through diverse forms of service directed toward the world to make Jesus Christ known in the fullness of his ministry and mission, which mandate that his followers:

  1.   Alleviate suffering;

  2.   Eradicate causes of injustice and all that robs life of dignity and worth;

  3.   Facilitate the development of full human potential; and

  4.   Share in building global community through the church universal.
