Annual conferences, local congregations, caucuses, and alumni of UM-related institutions in the Philippines are invited to send Volunteer in Mission (UMVIM) teams to the Philippines before the convocation dates. UMVIM teams that can only work at a later time are urged to schedule an arrival in Manila on January 3, 2018, for the big gathering.
The convocation is an opportunity for participating UMVIM teams and individuals to celebrate BalikBayanihan2018 together, to add meaning to and impact of the mission, to forge new and strengthen existing connections and relationships, and to witness the wisdom and creativity of the Philippine church.
We welcome the assistance of the Director of Mission Volunteers at the General Board of Global Ministries. In this mission component, no one is left behind. NAFAUM is partnering with the National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP), Asuncion Perez Memorial Center (AAPMC), Kapatiran-Kaunlaran Foundation (KKFI), Central UMC, and other organizations for a host of mission activities and projects for everyone. And then there is the Christmas Institute, a youth leadership camp conducted around the country on December 26-30, where hundreds of youth and youth leaders flock to become better Christians, where many principled UM leaders are minted.
Volunteer. Volunteer. Volunteer.

Filipino-American UMs and supporters gather in a convocation usually for cultural celebration, worship, workshops, forums, visioning sessions, networking, and a host of alumni reunions. Outstanding speakers and resource persons make the gathering worthwhile. In 2018, a MISSION COMPONENT is added in the convocation theme.
