Our Deepest  Condolences

On behalf of the NAFAUM community, we offer our deepest condolences as we are deeply saddened to learn of Bro. Danny’s passing. His legacy will continue to inspire us. We join with everyone in celebrating the life of Bro. Danny Hernaez was a great supporter of our vision and mission. Danny’s unwavering faith, commitment to the Methodist movement, and generosity touched many lives. His dedication to sharing God’s Word, particularly through his homilies and column in The Filipino Press in San Diego, is a testament to his love for God and his fellow humans.

Bro. Danny was a key participant in the Walk to Emmaus and helped shape the “Paglago” program for church growth and development. His skills as an evangelist, speaker, writer, and organizer were inspired by his deep belief in the power of prayer and his focus on ministry. His faith and efforts continue to inspire many, both locally and globally.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Emy, children, and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Methodist Humble on January 25, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to your place of worship or a community in need, honoring Danny’s life of faith and service.

“Well done, my faithful servant,” says the Lord.

NAFAUM

WHO
WE ARE

Get to Know NAFAUM

NAFAUM started as and is a platform where Filipino United Methodists could work together collectively to enhance the Christian life of all, in areas of the Christian faith that affect our interaction with the new land and people which we have now come to call our own. It also acts as an advocate for values peculiar to the Filipino not just to defend those when necessary, but use them as a means of grace and contribution to our common witness as part and parcel of the connection, even as not a formal and organic part of the official structure of The United Methodist Church. By our own volition, however, we observe and follow the ways and discipline and governance of The United Methodist Church. NAFAUM does everything the Methodist way, except that we are not within the formal structure of the church. Moreover, we could present proposals for funding by the general church to any of the general boards. And we could create or design programs that enhance our Christian life and witness as Filipinos in America, and all over the connection.
